BOITA SHOES

About Us

BOITA History
BOITA is a family name. It was over 60 years ago that José Boita created his first shoe. From the beginning, he stood out as a craftsman, known for the Goodyear Welted construction. The brand is led by two generations, José Boita and his children, Ana and André, combining a traditional vision with a modern aesthetic. The brand emerges to keep the Goodyear construction tradition alive, proudly preserving the artisanal process from the start. The shoes are made by the finest craftsmen in the industry. This high-quality construction system requires careful and specialized work, ensuring that with each passing day, a new step is taken - using the finest locally sourced vegetable-tanned leathers that age beautifully.
BOITA
O BOITA is the perfect brand for the busy everyday life in cities, with a polished look. Its construction features the excellence of Goodyear Welted, known for being sturdy, comfortable, and long-lasting. The Goodyear Welted construction revolutionized the shoe industry. The development of this system was driven by the demand for rugged, comfortable, and highly durable footwear, commonly found in the military and professional segments. Goodyear Welted is considered a prestigious construction model that delivers highly durable and robust results.
What characterizes a Goodyear Welted shoe?
The construction of the Goodyear Welted shoe is composed of a leather strip (known as welt), which is sewn to the upper structure of the shoe (leather plus lining) and the insole, along the entire base of the shoe, using a specific machine. This was invented in 1869 by Charles Goodyear Jr. This process is called Goodyear Stitching. The process creates an interior space between the insole and the midsole that will be filled with cork (referred to as filling or shank), providing greater comfort when worn. Subsequently, the welt is stitched to the midsole and the outsole, making the footwear more resistant.
